Earning Ontario High School Diploma (OSSD)

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND EARN YOUR OSSD

  • 18 COMPULSORY CREDITS
  • 12 OPTIONAL CREDITS
  • PLUS ONE CREDIT FROM EACH OF GROUPS 1 , 2 &3, IN WHICH EACH GROUP HAS A VARITY OF COURSES TO CHOOSE FROM.
  • The provincial literacy requirement OSSLT
  • A minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities

The community involvement requirement is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop awareness and understanding of civic responsibility.

They can actively participate in supporting and strengthening their communities. It also provides the opportunity for students to learn more about themselves and possible career opportunities.
Students can start accumulating hours in the summer before entering Grade 9.
